Adverbs

 An adverb is used commonly as the modifier of a verb. It may tell ' When' , 'How' , 'Where' or To what extent the action is done.

1. They always go to Colombo.

2.The teacher briefly explained it.

3.I have seen you somewhere.

4.She has only one teeth.

Here are some adverbs which are always used.

always                       well

seldom                       fast

already                       only

alone                          never

still                             later

now                            early

ever                            soon

somewhere                together 

most of adverbs can be formed by adding 'ly' to most of adjectives.

clever  - cleverly

final - finally

direct - directly

usual - usually

clear - clearly

special - specially

rare - rarely

natural - naturally

correct - correctly

oral - orally
